| Report: | Cheam vs. Dorking: A Grueling Battle in the Heat
Conditions: Sweltering
Result: Cheam Loss
It was a tough night for Cheam as we hosted Dorking in what can only be described as sweltering conditions. With the court feeling hotter than a sauna, every rally was a physical test, leaving all of us gasping for breath as the Dorking side ultimately dominated the fixture.
Despite the challenging environment and the overall team loss, there was a brilliant glimmer of hope. Andy provided the triumphant victory of the night, securing a fantastic win for Cheam and showing immense resilience in the stifling heat.
Elsewhere on the courts, the effort was undeniable even if the results didn't go our way. Jorge was involved in an absolute marathon in his first game, battling point-for-point to a grueling 20-20 before his opponent narrowly edged it out with 23 points. It was a monumental effort that set the tone for a hard-fought evening.
Paul also put up a tremendous fight, showcasing impressive power throughout his match and keeping the games incredibly close despite ultimately suffering narrow losses.
Meanwhile, Mac faced an uphill battle. Bogged down by leg injuries that unfortunately let him down on the night, he still put up a valiant fight. However, his opponent, Richard, was relentless and just ploughed on to take the win.
While we were hungry for an overall victory, Dorking simply had the upper hand in this sauna-like encounter. We will regroup, recover, and eagerly look forward to the return fixture against Dorking. |
